Concierge Service at Our Bar Harbor Bed & Breakfast
In advance or in person, we can help you plan your stay...
Spontaneous is fun, but by planning ahead you can avoid missing that boat tour or romantic dinner you had been anticipating. Please email us before your arrival, and we can handle reservations and make suggestions so that you don’t waste a minute of your precious time in Bar Harbor.
Here are some tips we like to share with our guests.
Start your tour of Acadia National Park at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and watch the video "The History of Acadia" — great aerial views.
Explore other towns and villages on the island — just about 20-30 minutes from Bar Harbor, all with distinct personalities. Visit Northeast Harbor to see the beautiful harbor, upscale shops and galleries. Drive to Southwest Harbor; explore the picturesque fishing village and specialty shops. Then, head to Bass Harbor and visit the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse — one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country.
Rent a bike at Acadia Bike on Cottage Street then take the Island Explorer (free shuttle) to Eagle Lake and bike on the carriage roads — totally away from cars! People come from around the country to walk and bike on Mr. Rockefeller’s carriage roads. We have maps and books at Yellow House and would be glad to help you select great trails.
Visit Jordan Pond House, the only restaurant in Acadia National Park and well known for tea and popovers on the lawn overlooking the pond. Their lobster stew is fabulous. Reservations recommended and plan to take the Island Explorer because parking may be an issue.
Experience the "First Light" on Cadillac – drive up Cadillac Mountain and enjoy the first light on the eastern seaboard.
And, each month...
We also share information about what's going on around the inn and in Bar Harbor in our monthly e-newsletter, News from the Porch. You can look at past e-newsletters here, and sign up to receive it in your inbox each month.
